Chaung Tha

The majority of the town's accommodation options lie directly on Chaung Tha's coconut-littered shoreline with quality and size varying tremendously. During slow season (June to September) some appear to be abandoned; nevertheless, ones that remain open offer huge discounts -- often up to 50%. Be warned that many of the hotel managers quoted us ridiculously high rates, as much as three times the price of other rooms in the area of similar quality. It will pay to shop around, especially during high season when our top choices may be full.
