Good veranda views
What we say: 
All Spean Thmey would need to greatly improve its appeal is a coat of paint and good scrub. The rooms are well sized, but with paint peeling off the walls and very old and grungy cold-water bathrooms, the Spean Themy is poor value. The big asset here is the two floors of shared verandas that offer great views over the river -- all they need now are a few sticks of furniture, some pot plants and a hammock or two.

Grungey
The condom wrappers and lube add in the main hall give this spot a seedy feel, and the filthy cold water bathrooms are dank. The fan room comes equipped with a very small fan and only a bare dim lightbulb. This was the only place I stayed in Cambodia that was not a value, however, the river view cannot be beat. At $6 bucks can you complain, well I guess if you can do better you can. This lodging reminds me of cold water cheapies in Bolivia, not a value but cheap!
