Tree Top Ecolodge
The best in town

What we say:
Mr. T, once Stung Treng's unofficial welcome committee and owner of its popular Riverside guesthouse, has relocated to Ban Lung to be with his new wife and because, his nephew who now runs Riverside says, he didn't see much of a future in Stung Treng. Lucky for Ban Lung. Tree Top is by far the nicest place to stay and, oddly, one of the cheapest. It opened in early 2009 and while there's no way these prices will last, for now you can get a beautiful hut with a wraparound porch that hangs off the side of a lush hillside for a song. Inside, bungalows have electricity, vaulted ceilings, an immaculate, connected bathroom and super-thick mattresses with soft linens. The cheaper rooms, while still a good deal, are set in a row house and lack the incredible views and private outdoor space. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is already bustling with travellers, though we found the food to be only so-so.

Good vibe, good value
Stayd in two different double rooms (not a bungalow). With share bathroom and private. Private is $6 and share is $5 per night. I would recommend going for the private. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a cool interior. The common area is also very relaxed with a nice view of the valley. Watch out for the kids. Before you know it they are sitting on your lap and hogging what ever game you are playing. The food was ... average. The thing is they don't like the western version of their own food ... so no wonder it is average. We could leave our stuff there free of charge during our 3 day trek. And the owner helped us get something back we left on the bus. The owner is upscaling the lodge. So check prices again, because they are going up.

Chill and comfortable
This is a great place as a base in Banlung - a little outside the hustle of the city center but close enough to easily walk anywhere in town. The large patio/restaurant area is great - for reading in the afternoons or for a beer or meal anytime - and with a good view. This is definitely the highlight of the place! Rooms are basic but clean. Bed was comfortable and had a mosquito net. Really good value for a place with great character and charm. One staff member gave me some attitude when I was inquiring about tour options and if it was possible to join a group, but other than this one person, the rest of the staff was very helpful and sweet.

Best in town!
The prcies are not quite up to date. A bungalow is $15, normal room with inside bathroom is $10 and bathroom outside $7. Best place we stayed at in all of Cambodia. Absolutely amazing lodge, really nice and clean, great atmosphere (even tasteful music...), breathtaking view of the valley, helpful nice people, good food (simple breakfast, but especially Khmer lunch/dinner dishes are very big and not expensive at all compared to places in town). It' off a dirt road, so a little hard to find, but moto-drivers can show you the way. Just a short walk from the town's center. Stay here if you have the chance!!

Great place
Very nice place, with nice clean rooms and friendly staff and a nice restaurant. Only downside was the lack of hot water and blankets, since it rained the entire week I was there and it got really chilly at night.

Cool place
This is definitely the place to go if you want to chill out in nature. We stayed in one of the Bungalows and it was nice. With amazing views of the valley, The staff are very friendly and they like to have fun, they can arrange everything for you, the food is good, most importantly is the location. It is really like just implanted in the forest. I would definitely recommend this place to people. I saw other places around town and this is definitely the best if you want to be in nature. The feel of this place was chilled out!

AWESOME!!!
Very chilled out place in Banlung. We stayed here for 3 nights. You can choose a seperate wooden bungalow or a private room in a big wooden Treehouse. The food was nice, the rooms were very atmospheric & the surroundings very scenic. We had some interesting conversations with the owner & the tour guide who took us on a nice Trek. Good value, would recommend this place to everyone.
