Ugly building, pleasant lakeside setting
What we say: 
The Lakeside Chheng Lok Hotel sits on the western side of the lake and if the far pricier Terres Rouges is out of your budget, this is a good, albeit somewhat charmless, second choice, with tile floors, stiff curtains, and a wooden moose head sufficing as decor in the lobby. The upstairs lakeside rooms have good views, high ceilings and the restaurant by the lake is very pleasant. Rooms are kitted out and very clean -- very much in the same style as the Sovann Kiri. Two rows of bungalows in front of the main building, with brick exteriors and wooden interiors, sit between the main hotel and the water and to the south of the hotel is a longhouse with functional budget rooms. The bungalows all come with individual porches facing the lake, hardwood floors, air-con, hot water, and cable. For the money, these are a good value option. The budget rooms are also good value, but we'd opt for Balcony first. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the market.

a dust-free setting !!!
there's no style but for the ''cinese baroque'' but the rooms (and windows) are big! the bathroom also but could do with a ''better cleaning method''. we had a room at the back so we could leave the window open and still have our privacy. the restaurant is ok for breakfast since the town is a 5 min walk away. all in all a good choice for Ban Lung, we were happy we choose to stay there.
