What we say:

We'd seen banners for this place in both Kratie and Stung Treng, and it sounded like a good place. We guess if you've got a great crowd of people, even the worst place on earth can be fun, so let's just hope you've got a great crowd in tow when you show up here. Backpacker Pad's rates are bottom of the barrel, but even at these low rates it's difficult to recommend. Rooms are reasonably clean and when we asked if the bathrooms were cold water only we were told they were hot -- could only be due to the ambient temperature within the rooms. Location is streetside, not really close to anything, halfway between the lake and the centre of town. Banlung Balcony is far better value. Friendly staff.
