What we say:

Of the lakeside Christmas cake hotels, Laseside is a reasonable option. Take an upstairs lake-view room and enjoy the view from your own veranda -- if you want even more natural light, request a corner room as they cost the same but have windows in two walls. The rooms themselves are adequate -- clean and well looked after -- but are otherwise quite forgettable. Who knows what they do to scuff and chip the walls as has been done here. The Lakeview rooms are worth about $15, so if business is slow (and it most likely will be) haggle them down. The $10 "garden view" rooms are not worth the money. Watch yourself on the driveway -- it is deceptively steep -- and very easy to stall a motorbike on.
