The River-Star has a mix of brightly-decorated large rooms with beautiful views of the river and smaller rooms with no windows. Because it is farther north in the riverside area, it is a bit quieter, and as of mid 2009, it faces the portion of the river that isn't obstructed by a long vinyl wall hiding the construction on the river. Rooms all come with air-con, private bathroom with a good pressure hot shower, and a fridge with a stocked minibar. Their promotional brochure brags that even the bathrooms have river views, but don't let that fool you -- it appears that in only one bathroom does your shower have a large window. This hotel is starting to show its age, but if you want a river view, this hotel offers one of the best in town for the lowest price. Free pick-ups from the airport are offered.

Ummm... - 4th August, 2009
The interior room we had was adequate, if not a little musty and unkept. The staff were overly friendly and were prompting us to use the restaurant (which smelt like dog??) and do activities, which we did not do. The rooms with a view looked much better. Not a bad place for a few nights.

excellent value - 26th March, 2007
Great location. River view rooms are excellent value, especially those on the fourth floor which also have balconies overlooking the riverside action. Staff are always smiling and helpful and rooms clean and comfortable.

great location - 7th June, 2006
this hotel has stunning views over the river. The room was huge could have had a party. Great service from the friendly staff but beware the managers deals with travel arrangements (shop around first).
