You will feel like a guest staying at the manor of a kind, wealthy Khmer friend here. Set on the stubby Street 262, a quiet, pebble-strewn block behind the Mobitel Office on Sihanouk Boulevard near the Independence Monument, Australian/Khmer-run Manor House has a bunch of clean rooms in a handy location. The rooms are a good size for the money, with large, very well-looked after hot-water bathrooms, cable TV, fridge and air-con throughout. Some bathrooms have glass-enclosed shower stalls, while others come with bathtub showers. What swings the deal is a little swimming pool set beside the main building. It's an old-fashioned tiled pool, surrounded by potted greenery and a bar. There's some poolside seating, and breakfast is available, but outside of that, you need to rely on delivery for your food -- somewhat of an oddity for Phnom Penh -- but plenty of fine restaurants are just a short walk away. Staff are very friendly and they speak excellent English.

Manor House reviews

Very enjoyable - 20th December, 2009
We stayed here twice on our recent travels through Cambodia. The owners & staff are very friendly & helpful. The rooms are lovely & clean. The pool, which he had almost to ourselves, was great. Anybody who serves cakes for breakfast is on a winner with me. Special mention to Samut the tuktuk driver who resides out the front who was fantastic. Would stay here again, highly recommended as was the Khmer surin restaurant which was recommended to us by the host.

Haven - 29th June, 2008
This place was real luxury. Not cheap but lovely friendly owner and staf sorted all our Vietnam visa stuff, and booked boats without seeming to charge any more than the agencies. Even gave us a pizza when we came home drenched from a tropical storm! Fantastic haven in green leafy streets - great to go back and chill out in the pool in the heat of the day.

We had a wonderful stay - 7th January, 2008
We stayed for three nights over Christmas 2007. Our room was huge, airy and very clean, with great en suite facilities. We found the staff and owner to be really friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we were waved off on our departure. There's a resident tuk-tuk driver, who went out of his way to help us explore Phnom Penh safely and effectively. We would definitely go back.
