Description
Located on a dirt road behind Olympic Stadium, this friendly place has a beautiful patio on the third floor. Rooms are homely but clean with hot water bathrooms and a small TV in each. The staff are pleasant, and a selection of tour books can be borrowed from the lobby. They offer a full-service travel agency on site, and at least one of the staff here speaks excellent English with a distinct Kiwi accent. Call for free transport from the ferry.

Stayed here 2 nights. Rooms are basic, a/c can be turned on by request. The food is good. They offer good tours, will make calls for you too. In a very run-down area of Phnom Pehn. Would stay by river next time.

Top Banana Guesthouse
Corner St 51 & St 278, Phnom Penh
Top Banana Guesthouse is situated on the top floor of a three-storey building on the corner of Pasteur (Street 51) and Street 278. With a shaded and breezy, hammock-strewn rooftop terrace, this is a great place to escape the midday heat. Travelfish users have raved about this being a top spot for... more
Narin Guest House
#50 Street 125, Phnom Penh
Narin is not very well located unless you plan on spending much of your time hanging around Phsar Orasay or Teukei bar, but it's still very popular with backpackers -- probably because its rooms are reasonable and the staff friendly. The rates are good and a pleasant restaurant on the 2nd storey... more
Capitol Guest House
14AEo Street 182, Phnom Penh
The staff here are invariably rude and though the rooms are adequate plenty of other places have far better staff. This aside, the air-con rooms are quite large, though the fan ones have super soft mattresses. Check out Narin or TAT before committing to a night at the... more
TAT Guest House
52E1 Street 125, Phnom Penh
Next door to Narin Guesthouse and offering identical prices, TAT has slightly better rooms and a common area on the third storey. You feel more like you're living in someone's house here than at Narin and the restaurant upstairs is more like someone's dining room -- open and... more
Narin 2 Guesthouse
20 Street 111, Phnom Penh
The Narin 2 is right next door to the Seng Sokhom, but there are some real contrasts -- it's a well-worn part of a group tour operation, so a hideaway it is not. Still, like its neighbour, the rooms are quite decent for the price -- spacious and clean, with tile floors. Choose from a huge variety... more
Seng Sokhom Guest House
22E1 Street 111, Phnom Penh
This is a very down-to-earth place in an out-of-the way location -- probably the most Cambodian guest house we've seen that, at the same time, wouldn't be too dodgy for foreigners. In fact it's just the opposite: a laid back family-run place that's such a great little hideaway from the crowds we... more
