What we say:

From the outside, World Star looks unappealing, with a garish, faux pagoda rooftop and an adjacent seedy-looking nightclub. Don't let this, the filthy hallways or the No Drugs, No Drugs sign on the wall deter you -- this hotel is fairly priced and the rooms are clean, with big soft beds, leather lounge chairs and hot water bathrooms. Staff are rather surly and unable to communicate well in English, catering more to a middle class Khmer crowd than Westerners. Free airport pickup is offered. A bit north of the action, you're still within walking distance (or a short moto ride) of the Central Market and close to the Beuong Kak Lake area. There's also a sauna and fitness centre and an enormous adjacent parking lot useful for aid workers with rental cars.
