Spacious common room, friendly owner
What we say: 
Popular with long-term guests, this is a place to meet some quirky and friendly people. The owner seems to be close friends with some of his guests, who all vouch that the place is the homiest in town. When we visited, we met an American archaeologist excavating in the area and an Indian teacher consulting to the embassy. The rooms are small and bare, but the incredibly high ceilings make them feel more spacious. There's a vaulted common room where guests congregate, as well as an unfinished patio that's really only suitable for hanging your laundry.

Very basic, but fine
Top banana was full, so I stayed here instead, but don't remember what I paid. It was very basic - if I remember correctly, they didn't even provide a towel. Also, they didn't have a safe deposit box. Unlike the description above, people weren't really hanging out in the common room. It was fine though - a perfectly adequate option, but nothing in particular to seek out.
