Sweeping views of the receeding lake

Located next door to Lake Side Guest House, this equally large place has equally cheap and equally grotty rooms. It's owned by the same people as #9 Sister and, though the ambience is nice, isn't quite as picturesque. Guests access their rooms by walking over planks right over the water, and for the price, the rooms are cleaner and more spacious than its competitors. The almost-floating hotel feel gives the place charm if you can ignore the unfortunate colour of the lake. Although the lounge restaurant is similar to the other guesthouses lining the lake, it's larger and offers a more sweeping view of the receding lake.

#9 Guest House reviews

Read 2 opinions from Travelfish readers

I didn't think it was half bad - 3rd April, 2007
$5 for a private room with bath on the lake - not too bad! Granted, the rooms are a bit shabby and during the day it's too hot to go into them, but the staff is very friendly, speaks great english and it's in a good location. Night time the music blares on the deck for all the people having cocktails and there's a TV and plenty of DVD's to choose from. If you're looking for something quiet, be sure to get a room away from the lake - the music goes on until at least midnight.

Much better than your discription - 11th May, 2005
The picture you have on the site of No 9 Sister GH is actually from No 9 GH. The big porch, lots of flowers, the bridge over the canal with rooms along. I had a large room with fan and private bathroom for US$5. The staff is very nice and some of them speak good english. And just outside I met a very good guide/moto driver. Ask around for Sary, he has a univerity degree in tourism and speaks fluently english, or call him at +855 11 907 509
