Description
Blissful is easily the best value guesthouse in Kampot. Set in a large, two-storey house, the rooms are clean and well-maintained, even if some are a little pokey. A spacious common area on the first floor has plentiful information stuck on the walls and is a good spot to collapse in the midday heat. A pleasant garden area with a few hammocks is good for lazing on cooler days, but bring mosquito repellent. Good range of western and Cambodian food on the menu. Bicycles are available for hire and Blissful can assist regarding volunteering opportunities in Kampot. A popular, very comfortable and friendly spot, with a welcoming backpacker vibe -- recommended.

We stayed at Blissful but didn't enjoy it so much when we saw the big rats runningaround in our ''postcard'' room

Blissful is a nice pace, well decorated and furnished, with clean bathrooms, linen and towels available. There's a chill out area at hand. Very well recommended.

Good budget option in Kampot. Nice hammocks and garden to chill out. Only 5 minutes walk to the river. However, don't buy your bus tickets here. Go to the bus station by the taxi stand to avoid extortionate commission. We were charged US$6 for a ticket to Phnom Penh, instead of the usual $4.

The often noisy TV is not really necessary and check your bill carefully when checking out.

Stayed here only one night in a charming little room upstairs called the Map Room -- the wall has some Cambodian maps pasted on it. The wooden floor made me feel very comfy in the rainy month. The surrounding is very homely! My only complaint is that they charged me US$ 1.00 for using the bicycle just to go to the riverside for a stroll. They could have made it free, as the Jasmine Guest House in Siem Reap does. The staff are very friendly too. the book exchange section in the lobby is fantastic. Would stay here again if ever I am here.

Originally stayed at Kampot Guesthouse on taxi's insistence but soon moved to Blissful as it has bags of charm and great areas to chill. One of the best places we've stayed full-stop. Exactly what the traveller looks for in a place. Plus we bought Kampot pepper and a gorgeous skirt there.
Ah, the round sofas. and the hammocks... - ![]()

A lovely guesthouse -- the rooms are spotless and the staff/owners are friendly and helpful. Gotta love falling asleep in on of the hammocks on the terrace upstairs to the sound of rain on the trees and plants in the garden... will definitely go back!

I stayed here three times and keep on coming back every time I go to southern Cambodia, Elvis & Angela are really friendly people, the food is good, and the round sofas at the bar are really welcoming after a trip to Bokor !

Simply the most accommodating place we stayed during our one year adventure. Elvis isn't dead, he just serves the best real baked beans and g & t's in Southeast Asia. The happy hours will and we mean WILL make you stay beyond your visa.

They have pretty glam dorm rooms here for US$2.50 too. Very nice setting and five minutes walk from the taxi stand. An OK bar. Look, the river is so close anyway - this town is really small!

Just up the road from Blissful, Kampot has spotless, well-sized rooms priced across a range of budgets. There's also a large terrace and a restaurant on site serving Khmer and limited western food. Mealy Chenda Guesthouse
Centre of town, Kampot
A bit of a backpacker factory, Kampot's Mealy Chenda is centrally-located and offers basic, no-frills rooms with fan and very grimy bathrooms. The main asset here is the large upstairs terrace area from where you can see Bokor and watch goings-on in Kampot. Better options in Kampot are available,... more

Long Villa is at the northern end of Kampot on the road leading to the new bridge, and has its accommodation set in a two storey building back off the main road. Kampot River View Guesthouse
Riverside, northern end of Kampot
Set at the northern end of Kampot, the Kampot River View Guesthouse doesn't make as much use of its riverside location as it could. Rooms are adequate -- they're all fan-cooled, clean and come with cable TV and private bathrooms but are nothing to get too excited about. The best thing is the... more

The uber-chilled out, Australian-run Bodhi Villa sits on the Teuk Chhou Rd a couple of kilometres north of Kampot on the west side of the river.
