Blissful Guesthouse
A blissful backpacker option

What we say:
Blissful is easily the best value guesthouse in Kampot. Set in a large, two-storey house with hardwood floors, the rooms are clean and well-maintained, even if some are a little pokey. Dorm rooms have windows, fans, and three beds to a shared bath -- not a bad ratio at all for the price. All beds come with mosquito nets and windows have screens. There's a spacious common area on the first floor, with a big bar/restaurant and a series of outdoor thatched bungalows with hammocks and bucket chairs, surrounded by palms and connected by stone paths. The bar has plentiful information stuck on the walls and is a good spot to collapse in the midday heat. A pleasant garden area with a few hammocks is good for lazing on cooler days, but bring mosquito repellent. The menu has a good range of Western and Cambodian food, with BBQ some nights upon request. During happy hours from 16:00 to 20:00, draft Anchor costs 75 cents and sodas are always 50 cents. Bicycles are available for hire and Blissful can assist regarding volunteering opportunities in Kampot. A popular, very comfortable and friendly spot, with a welcoming backpacker vibe -- recommended.

Highly reccommend!
Everyone was so accommodating! The rooms are cheap, and you kind of get what you pay for. But the atmosphere is great. What's even better is the food! It's the best Western food I've had since being away (Sunday roast, amazing breakfast, solid sandwiches, everything) and the Khmer food is great too. I suggest the Stir-fry tofu and Bean Sprouts. Although at times when the locals and owners have had a couple to drink the music gets louder and more metal. But overall, I've loved it. They were great helps and is close to everything.

Great for relaxing
We stayed here for three nights after some exhausting traveling and it was the perfect place to relax with its nice garden and good music. the room was ok, we payed about US$6 a night for private bathroom and warm water. Staff is nice, food ok. Wasn't easy to leave. would definitely stay there again.

Great for the price!
We stayed here for two nights in July 2010. For $6 it was fantastic - nice clean room, clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The food at the bar was really nice. We didn't particularly like one of the staff members who could be a bit brusk, but everyone else was really friendly. Recommended.

RATS
We stayed at Blissful but didn't enjoy it so much when we saw the big rats runningaround in our ''postcard'' room

A very nice place
Blissful is a nice pace, well decorated and furnished, with clean bathrooms, linen and towels available. There's a chill out area at hand. Very well recommended.

Best budget option
Good budget option in Kampot. Nice hammocks and garden to chill out. Only 5 minutes walk to the river. However, don't buy your bus tickets here. Go to the bus station by the taxi stand to avoid extortionate commission. We were charged US$6 for a ticket to Phnom Penh, instead of the usual $4.

Not so good
The often noisy TV is not really necessary and check your bill carefully when checking out.

Great value for the $
Stayed here only one night in a charming little room upstairs called the Map Room -- the wall has some Cambodian maps pasted on it. The wooden floor made me feel very comfy in the rainy month. The surrounding is very homely! My only complaint is that they charged me US$ 1.00 for using the bicycle just to go to the riverside for a stroll. They could have made it free, as the Jasmine Guest House in Siem Reap does. The staff are very friendly too. the book exchange section in the lobby is fantastic. Would stay here again if ever I am here.

Charming!
Originally stayed at Kampot Guesthouse on taxi's insistence but soon moved to Blissful as it has bags of charm and great areas to chill. One of the best places we've stayed full-stop. Exactly what the traveller looks for in a place. Plus we bought Kampot pepper and a gorgeous skirt there.

Ah, the round sofas. and the hammocks...
A lovely guesthouse -- the rooms are spotless and the staff/owners are friendly and helpful. Gotta love falling asleep in on of the hammocks on the terrace upstairs to the sound of rain on the trees and plants in the garden... will definitely go back!

Definitly the best in Kampot
I stayed here three times and keep on coming back every time I go to southern Cambodia, Elvis & Angela are really friendly people, the food is good, and the round sofas at the bar are really welcoming after a trip to Bokor !

We love Elvis
Simply the most accommodating place we stayed during our one year adventure. Elvis isn't dead, he just serves the best real baked beans and g & t's in Southeast Asia. The happy hours will and we mean WILL make you stay beyond your visa.

Pretty
They have pretty glam dorm rooms here for US$2.50 too. Very nice setting and five minutes walk from the taxi stand. An OK bar. Look, the river is so close anyway - this town is really small!
