From the first greeting with a big smile, La Java Bleue provides a warm and friendly experience.
Donna and Jean-Claude, the chef, have created a beautiful bijou hotel of only five rooms and a terrace restaurant. The colonial corner building has been lovingly renovated with a fairy-lit dining area and three individually themed rooms, with a further two across the street. Carefully chosen furnishings, sculptures and prints bring the past to life in the very spacious French room, the twin bed Khmer room and the attic Chinese room, boasting a suntrap balcony. Bathrooms are luxurious and a delicious breakfast and WiFi are included. Due to the service and the size, rooms get booked out; if staying isn't an option, the restaurant is a great consolation prize. The daily woodfire barbecue serves up barracuda, swordfish and steaks cooked to perfection, and Jean Claude will come to your table to flambe the banana dessert. Dining on the pavement surrounded by fairylit trees is probably the pick of the town.
