Just across the dirt trail from Veranda, Vanna is another bungalow and pool combination with spectacular sunset views.
The well-sized bungalows are a mix of concrete and wood (the cheaper ones are wood and higher up the hill), with hot water, porches and a homey, comfortable feel. Sadly, the pricier rooms lack the finesse that would justify paying more, the twin beds are quite narrow and many of the bathrooms are wet rooms, not to everyone's taste. A few rooms aren't ocean facing but the same price as those that are, so be sure to specify you want a seaview when you book or see a few rooms when you visit. The accommodation is set behind a platform restaurant with that fine ocean vista: the menu isn't the cheapest and you may have to hunt down a waiter, but the inclusive breakfast is reasonable if you get up in time to enjoy it. The large pool has a shallow kids' section and is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon ($5 for visitors), but pool-side service is sparce to non-existent. With a bit of maintenance and a few extra staff members, Vanna would be a real delight.
