Where is Star Inn?

Star Inn

Not as bad as it looks

At first glance, the Star Inn looks like the Beach Club's ugly sister, with a tacky, plastic sign out front and an even tackier colour scheme, but on closer inspection it turns out to be an OK deal, with clean and well maintained rooms. Many come with Jacuzzi-style bathtubs and, unlike the Beach Club, private balconies. All have air-con and hot water. It's still a bit of a cheesy affair though -- they've gone overboard on the pink paint and the decor is borderline wedding cake style, but that aside, the rooms are comfortable and there are fine views over Kep's main beach. A large, ground-floor restaurant has a thatched roof that clashes with the style of the main building and a large patio looking over the ocean. Though the location is straight over the road from the beach, which can make it a bit noisy, we genuinely couldn't really imagine ourselves feeling comfortable here and enjoying the ambience. If you want a pool Beach House is a better deal. The cheapest rooms are on the ground floor -- upper rooms are more expensive, but have nicer views.
