Koh Ta Kiev Island Resort
What we say:
Koh Ta Kiev Island Resort isn't quite what we would call a resort, but rather a collection of cosy bungalows directly on a quiet yellow sand beach with a large restaurant and bar. The bungalows are more sturdily constructed than most, with thatched roofs covering tin. Each has a lounging area with pillows, beds with bamboo frames, thick mattresses, mosquito nets and a large private bathroom. On the private balcony you'll find a hammock and wind chimes made of seashells from the beach. They also have a very sturdy treehouse bungalow; it has potential, but when we saw it, it appeared abandoned and was home to a dead rat, and the shared bathroom was a good 30m away. The bungalows on the ground, though, were perfectly clean and welcoming. The surrounding pine trees mean the beach here is not picture perfect, but it's still a beautiful, secluded spot and worth a visit.
