House of Malibu

Looking a bit worn

This resort has two branches -- this older one on Serendipity and another over the hill on Sokha Beach -- with the latter being a far better choice. This operation includes a two-storey bar and restaurant with amazing views over Serendipity Beach. Large and spotlessly clean rooms are set back behind the bar in a longhouse style so many don't have views that make the most of their beachside location. Views aside, they are pleasant enough and you will still be lulled to sleep by the roaring of the sea. Unfortunately, House of Malibu is starting to show a bit of wear and tear and as such is a tad overpriced even with their more recent rate reduction. In addition, with the expansion of music-thumping bars just up the beach, light sleepers may have some trouble. Despite all this, it's a pleasant place for an afternoon drink.

House of Malibu reviews

Read 1 opinions from Travelfish readers

Had no issues here - 23rd November, 2006
Stayed here for several days with our two kids. Had no issues at all. Malibu House was perfectly safe and fine for us with our kids. The location is good. Included breakfast is generous. My only issue was that the staff are a little less friendly than most places we visited -- maybe a little jaded from all the constant tourists? But, had no safety/security issues.

House of Malibu reviewed by docgliv on 23rd November, 2006, rated 3 out of 5.
