What we say:

Long-running Mick and Craig's is better known for their friendly and excellent value restaurant and bar than their rooms, though we're not sure why. The solid concrete rooms arranged in a longhouse style at the rear of the restaurant are clean and provide more atmosphere than usual for the price range with attractive ceiling fans and four-poster beds. Bathrooms are simple, but again feature amenities not usually found in backpacker haunts, like semi-enclosed showers! Really! Finally, each room has a balcony outfitted with chairs for lounging. The restaurant serves up delicious food and, along with their normal menu, have a different cuisine theme every night of the week — check out their barbecue nights Thursdays and Fridays and roasts on Sundays. For further diversion, a TV room has a huge selection of DVDs and next door is Casablanca Books, a great secondhand bookshop. Boasts very friendly staff and is a 10-minute walk from the beach.

Not bad

Room was pretty good, clean and did its job, though the light was extremely dim, and it did start to feel damp after a few days of torrential rain, though I think that much rain was unusual. Staff were friendly enough, and food was passable but not great. 5/10 minute walk to the beach, few shops and restaurants around. Recommended, but Monkey Republic next door looks more fun if they have a vacancy (they didnt when I went)
