GST Guesthouse is owned by the same-named bus company and the place has the atmosphere of a bus station. We've heard that GST pays by far the highest commissions of any guesthouse in Sihanoukville, so don't be surprised if your motodop starts telling you it is the best place to stay -- it isn't. The rooms are clean but charmless; the staff is cold; the food is mediocre at best. The place has a backpacker factory feel to it, and a bad reputation among long-term residents of the town who all seem to have horror stories to share. Officially prices haven't changed in years, but unexpected surcharges are common. Not recommended.

GST Guesthouse reviews

Read 2 opinions from Travelfish readers

Spacious room, clean - 1st January, 2010
We stayed at the new location. We paid for a double room with deactivated aircon $13. The room was spacious and very clean. Unfortunately the windows are as everywhere in SE-Asia very thin so we could hear the noise from the neighbouring restaurant in the night. But with earplugs it was tolerable. The beach is only a few metres away. We would stay here again.

New location - 27th December, 2009
GST has a guesthouse right at the junction where you can walk to the right and hit the Serendipidy Bungalows or go left and hit the beac shacks. Its a huge operation, lots of rooms, and we were taken here by our tuk tuk driver at first. Stayed here our second night after the beach bungalow and it was decent. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, no elevator to the 4th floor, but all things considered it wasn't bad. I walked in to the cleaners using my girlfriends tweezers to pluck a few hairs. Gross right? She talked to management and they paid us the price of the tweezers.
