Description
Owned by the same people who run Coasters down on the beach, this large guesthouse is far better value with very clean rooms in a two storey house that runs back a surprisingly long way from the road. There is a spacious and very quiet restaurant downstairs. Popular with those on a budget.

I stayed here one night. I paid 15 USD for a quite charming room. I moved to the COVE BEACH BUNGALOW the following day where I got a perfect bungalow with hamock and seaview for 10 USD.

More like a shed that a beach hut -

We booked via email and confirmed prior to arrival being assured that there would be someone to pick us up at the bus station. No such luck. The road to the guesthouse is so bad that the taxi drivers won't make the trip. They leave you to walk in about 50 metres -- which when you've got heavy luggage is a bit of a struggle. The beach hut itself is old, decrepit and dirty with huge gaps between the panels and dirty cobwebs everywhere. The linen has seen many better days. The toilet ran all night and the mosquito net had holes in it. The fan made a noise that was positively scary. The floor was putrid. It was such an uncomfortable place to stay that we had to find somewhere else. Service wasn't very good either. The bar girls tend to walk about looking everywhere but at their customers and seemed put out if you actually wanted to order something. For this price you can do much, much, better.

Cloud 9
Serendipity Beach
Hidden away in the trees at the western end of the beach, barang-run Cloud 9 is easily the best value spot on Serendipity Beach. With a very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere and comfortable wooden and thatch bungalows with an attention to detail you rarely see in backpacker-targeted bungalows, Cloud... more

Eden
Serendipity Beach
When this place developed and expanded it caused some controversy among other guesthouse owners, as it was perceived as changing the feel of the beach. Like it or lump it, it seems throbbing music is here to stay, pretty much drowning out the excellent and more mellow music selection of nearby... more

Seaview Villa
On the trail down to Serendipity Beach
This rather charmless guesthouse sits on the dirt road leading down to Serendipity Beach. While the rooms are cleanish and all have cold-water showers, the main asset here is the sizeable rooftop terrace. There is a travel agent and internet cafe on the ground... more

The Beach
On the trail down to Serendipity Beach
The Beach is one of the cluster of places on the dirt road leading to Serendipity Beach. A laid back and sleepy spot -- so sleepy we had to wake up the staff to see a room -- this is a good near-the-beach budegt option. The rooms are ok, a little on the scruffy side with aging bathrooms, but there... more
