Markara Guesthouse is set off the beach towards the central stretch of Ochheuteal Beach. While it certainly isn't overflowing with charm, the rooms, which stick to the standard Snooky style of mismatched tiles and shockingly gaudy bed linens, are well sized and clean. The staff are welcoming, as are the mattresses which are soft by local standards. Similar in style and layout to the GST Guesthouse, Markara does a steady trade, and has a comfortable upper floor restaurant featuring a safe menu.

We spent a week here and had a great time.the room was clean and big, the staff friendly and helpful and the restaurant was good. I wish I could say this about all the places I have been in the last ten months...
