Opened in December 2007, Beach Road is a Sanooky newcomer with an array of pleasant and affordable rooms, not too far off the beach. The terracotta coloured exterior contrasts nicely with redwood accents and the green of their well-kept garden. Regular double rooms are housed in a good-sized building to the rear of the property and have gleaming floor tiles and fresh linens. VIP rooms are clustered around a verdant courtyard and boast more room, small refrigerators, and lots of light. All rooms have private bathrooms with hot water and TV and its location -- neighbouring Top Cat and Utopia -- is another plus. The final icing on this Beach Road cake is the fantastic staff -- perhaps the nicest and most welcoming in all of Sihanoukville.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. For mid-range hotels and up, always shop around online for a competitive rate. Click here to find out more about what makes Travelfish different with regards our accommodation reviews.

Stayed on longer than planned - 22nd April, 2009
We've just returned from a lovely stay at the Beach Road Hotel. We had a triple room in the new building which surrounds the pool - the downside is that you hear noise from the pool (occasionally early in the morning and late at night) but, the upside is that you are only steps away from a new, clean and beautiful pool (complete with swim-up bar).
The room itself was a bit sterile but the bathroom (which should be sterile) more than made up for it - the clean, plush towels were worth the stay in and of themselves.
The waitstaff are kind and the food is good but the service is dreadfully slow. The good news is that you can order from the bar or the pool and they will bring your food to you when it's ready...the bad news it that it might take an hour. As long as you aren't in a hurry, you can order while lazing by the pool and be awoken when your food is ready!
The five-minute walk to the beach sends you by several construction sites...so while you're lamenting the ''long'' walk, you can be glad that you aren't staying close enough to hear the construction. Plus, you have restaurants, laundry and a 24-hour convenience shop nearby so you're never far from whatever you need.
