Done Right
Eco-friendly

What we say:
A joint Swedish and Canadian venture, Done Right prides itself on being ecologically sound. They used beer cans to build their bar, beer bottles to build their walls and Bombay Sapphire bottles in their bathroom walls. The $5 rooms are closets — but stylish closets — with fans and mozzie nets, and they're currently building 10 dome-shaped bungalows that are shaping up to be very cool. The bar and outdoor area is stylishly designed and the restaurant serves up Swedish favourites like lingonberry jam, porridge and raraka as well as select Spanish dishes. Foosball and ping pong tables as well as volleyball courts give one the enough activity options to never leave. Recommended.

Done Right, Run Wrong
I had done quite a bit of research on this place before my stay, and was really really looking forward to staying there-it was also recommended to me by a fellow traveler. On arrival, we were greeted by one of the owners (Chris? Not too sure of the name), who was a really nice guy, however was dressed for the beach, not for greeting customers-he was wearing only a sarong. This isnt something that would usually bother me, however it was a little off-putting as he mentioned it had been a big night the night before and he hadnt been to sleep (this being 1pm in the day). We were told that the dome bungalows were all occupied but that we could have the ''sugar cube''-which, as the name suggests, was a quite cool looking bungalow shaped like, well, a sugar cube. We brought our stuff in and had a look around, and were quite put out by the lack of cleanliness of the bungalow. There was rubbish in the bin, the bathroom had not been cleaned, the toilet was leaking and very noisy, and the fan was covered in thick layer of dust that puffed around the room when we turned it on. We were still happy enough to stay as you dont really expect a high standard of accomodation when you are in Cambodia. Oh, and when we asked about WiFi access, the owner said that he didnt believe in it as he felt that if you have WiFi people will sit around on their computers all day not talking to each other. He then informed me that I could possibly leech off Mushroom Point (next door)if I got the password. We went out to have some lunch and when we went into the bar area, it was like a scene from the morning after a house party. Dirty glasses on every table, dirty plates with food on them stacked on the bar, dogs lying on the couches. Every table we sat at was sticky, I had to ask the staff (who were sitting around smoking and chatting) to clean the least sticky one we chose to sit at. I could almost handle all of this, if it werent for the flies. They were relentless. They were around every table and all over the floor, all over the dirty plates and glasses. The kitchen door was open and I could clearly see that the flies were also in there. Directly across from the bar on the other side of the gym area there was a large pile of garbage that had clearly been sitting for a while, with chickens pecking away at it. We ordered our food after the owner talked us into it, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. Flies or no flies, that was undeniable. Very reasonably priced, and delicious. We left to chill on the beach for a few hours, and when we came back not one thing had been removed from the dirty piles of dishes and glasses, and to add to it all, there were now several people sleeping on the couches, further adding to the house party theme. The owner was gone and we were greeted by the manager, who informed us that the owner had actually gone back to canada that day and he was now looking after the place. He seemed nice but also informed us of the heavy night ''the family'' had had, and introduced us to the people on the couches. As it turns out, the people who were staying there had all been staying there long term, as in for months (hence the ''family'' comment). My partner and I felt like we were crashing a strangers party. The next day we quickly moved to the lovely Mushroom Point next door-music was being played loudly in the bar until 7am in Done Right. We actually went back a few nights later with a friend for some food, and although the place was much cleaner, we were informed that the kitchen was closed as there had been an ''incident'' which we later found out was that one of the family had stolen a camera from another family member. All in all we were extremely disappointed with this place, this is not an establishment that is run professionally. New, more focused management is needed, unless of course this was never intended to be a business, more of a hang out for the owners friends. p.s sorry for the long review, but I wanted to give an honest account of our stay, not just opinions.
