Part of the trend towards more upmarket hotels in Sihanoukville catering to couples, families and other visitors who want to combine comfort with travel, OC Hotel is not for the budget-conscious backpacker, but rather bridges the gap between that market and Sihanoukville’s Sokha Resort or Independence Hotel. Billed as a boutique hotel, OC is actually a little too large for the label, with 66 rooms offering a dizzying range of options.
Nor is it on the beach, but only a five-minute walk away from Ochheuteal and from the bars and restaurants on Serendipity Beach Road. The flashy facade is part of a new building that houses the very contemporary suites, while the older building at the back contains the smaller, darker, less sharply furnished rooms. But even being a short distance from the beach is not going to be considered a disadvantage once you get a glimpse of the pool. A stunning, emerald green, with luxurious poolside cabanas, will probably dispel any ideas of going near the sand and the waves. If you’re the kind of traveller who uses a hotel room primarily for sleeping and spends most of the daylight hours outdoors, one of the standard rooms in the old wing can save you some money and still give you access to all the facilities at ground level.
Aside from the magnificent pool, the hotel also operates its own spa, which is 10 minutes away at Otres beach -- they offer a free pick up service. The prices below include breakfast and cover the lowest and highest ranges. With so many options on offer, they can cover most prices in between as well.
