Geckozy Guesthouse
A good budget option

What we say:
Geckozy Guesthouse is a rundown but comfortable option in Sihanoukville town. They are opening a new French restaurant in late 2011, but the large common area is great for lounging and swapping stories with other travellers. All of the rooms are cosy and come en suite with a Western toilet and the downstairs rooms have hot showers. WiFi is free, though the connection in some rooms is better than in others — be sure to specify if internet is a priority. They offer motorcycle rentals and have a large collection of movies and games for guests. A good, friendly budget location if you want to stay in Sihanoukville town.

Chill and rustic
Stayed here about a week and had a nice time. Location is easy walking distance to everything in downtown. Even walked to Serendipity Beach in about 15 minutes. The owner Tui is an awesome cook. Internet is only on after 5pm and all day on weekends. We paid $6 for a double with hot water. Noise is inescapable in Sihanoukville, so bring earplugs and a sense of humor. Mosquito nets are provided over each bed. We rented the bikes for a day and found that the chains slipped, the gears wouldn't shift, and the brakes didn't work. Don't rent them until they are fixed.

calm garden and central location
we stayed in the cheapest room. for $6 it was very clean with hot water. the garden is a calm quiet place to eat a slow breakfast. it is centrally located between all the beaches so a good place if you want to investigate which beach you like best.

Great value and free WiFi
We looked around a couple places and liked this one best. The rooms are only $7 but they have some atmosphere unlike some of the others we saw and for the price you get fan, hot water, cable TV, DVD player, Western toilet and WiFi. Great value, we think! The owner is very friendly and the common sitting area is comfortable. They also found a safe, dry place for our bicycles which was appreciated. Often we have to leave them outside in other hotels.

Nice looking place...
Tried to get a room here; however, were all booked up. Is in a quiet area of the city -- off the main drag. If they are full there is a nice place about two blocks away that offers similar conveniences -- owned by an Australian. Name is Jim's or Pim's (not certain) (012) 178 5683 or (012) 181 0148. Place has a bar nearby that appears to only operate on weekends. Might want to check with the owner as he did explain it to us before we booked.
