What we say: 
A short walk from Psar Nath Market and Battambang's finest restaurants, The Lux Hotel offers spotless rooms at very reasonable rates. All rooms are spacious and include hot water, a decent-sized cable TV, minibar and a refrigerator. The helpful staff is friendly and the owner's two sons speak English. Its only drawback is its close proximity to a gaudy karaoke brothel. If you intend to use the WiFi, request a room near the centrally located router. Great for long-term stays as the owner will give you a discount, but you have to ask. Clean, excellent decor, great value!

Better options for the single traveler
The rooms are very nice, but the 'single rooms' are very small, mine didn't even have a sink. The 'single rooms' are far from the WiFi, so I was forced to get a double room and the cost was $12 (no AC, $18 for air-con), not 10. The hotel does not have a restaurant, so expect to walk at least a couple of blocks to one. No elevator, stairs only. There are many hotels in better locations where a single would be only $7.
