Casa Angkor Hotel
Very pleasant, good pool

What we say:
Casa Angkor's 95 rooms are spread across a couple of faux-colonial buildings in the heart of Siem Reap's French Quarter. The colonial style of the buildings is complemented by the traditional styling of the rooms, with heavy wooden cabinets, carpets and even a proper men's valet stand. The deluxe rooms are definitely worth the extra money, being bigger and better situated. With the new building came a good, though small, deep swimming pool, a small gym and a spa, which certainly increases the value of Casa Angkor, but the walk-in rates still struck us as a tad high for the standard. That said, discounts shouldn't be too difficult to come by -- either online or just ask. Staff and service is prompt and professional.

french influence
this was my second stay at casa angkor for 10 days or more. the overall service was excellent and the rooms neat, clean and the room service good every day. the breakfast included in price gave great choices of western and asian food - omlets to order and rice soup (bor-bor) made getting up early fun. the pool terrific in the hot afternoons or early evenings and the staff there helpful and friendly. lots of chlorine so eye goggles useful. arranging tours and sightseeing was easy with the hotel main desk setting up guides and transport - car or tuk tuk. safe location, security good and easy walk to royal park, old market, small mall for snacks and ice cream, or beer. it was a friendly home away from home. both my group and i will book again.

airy and romantic
this was my second stay in two years at the casa angkor. in 2009 road construction was dusty and annoying but this year the open dining room and outside patio was perfect, cool and quiet. the breakfast, included with the room fee, is expansive - western omelets and asian noodle dishes with endless croissants and tea or coffee. rooms are large and clean with excellent room service. evening geckoes maybe seen on outside stairwell walls and ceilings but none invade the rooms. hotel staff are helful arranging tours of angkor wat and several regular tuk-tuk drivers are always outside the hotel to help with short trips. they are not pushy. the pool is small but nice with lounge chairs and good food and drink service via a poolside bar and staff. lots of chlorine in the water so goggles are recommended. safe neighborhood with only a short walk to the ''lucky mart'' for snack shopping, ice cream and a variety of cambodian beers. a longer but interesting 15m minute walk to the old market or the night market with a stop at he ''blue pumpkin'' along the way. i'll stay there again this year. the roof garden and restaurant is romantic and provides a terrific view of the city.
