Description
The name Shinta Mani is apparently derived from Sanskrit meaning the gem that provides everything one desires, and for once the PR of a Siem Reap hotel isn't far off the mark. This small hotel and spa has very well designed and furnished rooms, a compact restaurant and a supported hospitality institute that all guests are welcome to visit. We visited here after a run-in with a particularly rude desk staffer at de la Paix, and the contrast couldn't have been starker. We found Shinta Mani's staff to be particularly helpful and courteous and the rooms even better than we remembered them from our previous visit. The pool is small, really just a lap pool, but it's still a good spot to relax after a day of temple touring. The hotel also boasts complimentary WiFi internet access throughout. Their walk-in rates are high, so be sure to shop around for an online rate. Very convenient location, a short walk from the Old Market area of Siem Reap.

Victoria Angkor Hotel
Central Park, Siem Reap
The Victoria Angkor remains one of the most impressive large properties in Siem Reap. Rooms are very generously sized and tastefully decorated, although the leopard print couch in one suite we saw may be overdoing it a little. Staff are excellent -- friendly, courteous and eager to please. The... more

FCC Angkor
Pokambor Rd, Siem Reap
The Angkor branch of the FCC Phnom Penh has terrific rooms, fitted out with all the mod cons. With their bright, glass fronted designs however, you're better off specifying an upstairs room if you value your privacy. Facilities include complimentary internet, flat screen TVs and steaming hot... more

Casa Angkor Hotel
Oum Khun Rd, Siem Reap
Casa Angkor's rooms are spread across a couple of faux-colonial buildings in the heart of Siem Reap's French Quarter. Rooms are light and airy, and some come with pleasant verandas and shuttered windows. The deluxe rooms are definitely worth the extra money -- the rooms are bigger and are better... more
