Description
We really liked this place. Rooms are all across two floors -- the one we were shown was configured for sleeping downstairs and upstairs for lazing and washing. Rooms are immaculate and the upstairs area particularly bright and airy. Decor is a charm and well executed. All the accommodation is centred around a deep and very enticing swimming pool -- there's a few deckchairs, but be prepared to wrestle for them in high season. Facilities include cable TV and DVD players, WiFi access throughout and there's a small restaurant on site. If within your budget, this is excellent value. Recommended -- reservations are essential in high season.

Standard - Double
40 USD (low season) 53 USD (high season)

Standard - Single
35 USD (low season) 48 USD (high season)

Off the beaten path, but not too far -- it's only two short blocks to cross the river and you're at the Old Market. The rooms are really suites, as described above, and the mildly salty pool is very refreshing after spending several hours traipsing around Angkor Wat complex. Reasonable rates for airport transfers and day-long driver hire -- ask for Sokhorn, he's also a gem!

this place is great - rooms are a bit pricier than in a GH, but if your budget allows it, you should stay here. I did not stay here but came in about 3 times to sit by the pool and have a drink. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. It's 5 min from the old market, and is located in a small alley so it's very private and not noisy at all.

Mysteres d'Angkor
235 Phum Slorkram, Siem Reap
This French-run boutique hotel is a good out-of-the-centre of Siem Reap choice, with the added bonus of a refreshing swimming pool. There's also a comfortable bar and small restaurant on the second floor of a restored wooden Khmer house and a series of duplex bungalows spread through their lush and... more

Viroth's Hotel
0658 Wat Bo, Siem Reap
Set a short walk from the Siem Reap River in Wat Bo, compact Viroth's is a breath of fresh air in the Siem Reap hotel scene. Truly a boutique hotel -- one that has earned the moniker rather than shamelessly appropriated it, Viroth's has but a handful of slick, stylishly designed rooms, clustered... more
