What we say:

Across from Shinta Mani, this 64-room hotel was teeming with guests when we visited -- mostly retirees dining on the French cuisine in one of the two restaurants, or swimming laps in the large pool, around which the rooms are all situated. The hotel, which opened in 2003, seems like a decent Raffles imitation, with a French colonial building made of wide, low-slung, open-air corridors surrounded by manicured greenery. Large brightly-painted rooms have small terraces and come with wicker furniture, roll-top desks, and all the amenities you'd ask for in this price range. The bathrooms, though they come with bathtubs, were a bit cramped and outdated.
