Siem Reap Rooms Guesthouse

Clean rooms and a rooftop pool

No pic at the moment -- Sorry!

What we say: 4.5 stars

English-owned Siem Reap Rooms delivers some of the best flashpacker value in the city.

This 14-room guesthouse is a five-minute tuk tuk ride from the Old Market and Pub Street, but it retains a quiet atmosphere thanks to the location down a sidestreet in Wat Bo village. A range of street food is found nearby and a growing number of low key bars and restaurants are found on nearby Wat Bo Road.

With lots of varnished hardwood, the building has a light and airy feel, and the terrace out front is a good place to relax with a sandwich, slice of cake, coffee and complimentary internet. Rooms come in a few sizes, but all are spacious with white walls, air-con, fans, cable TV, WiFi and wet room-style tiled en suites with hot water.

Note that some standard rooms don't have windows so be sure to request one when booking if that's important.

Superior and deluxe editions bag you more light, more space and bathtubs. Rates include pick-up from the bus station, airport or ferry landing. Given the cleanliness, comfort and amenities, these rooms would be great value no matter what, but an inviting rooftop terrace with a swimming pool and loungers puts Siem Reap Rooms a step above the rest.

Advanced booking is a good idea.
