A small oasis
What we say: 
Life in Amed is a small oasis tucked between the black sand beach of Lean village and dramatic inland hills. Choose from their small cottages, with downstairs double beds plus upstairs singles, two medium-sized beachfront villas, or a spectacular newly opened in 2011 three-bedroom villa. All have air-con bedrooms, hot water showers, and a loving attention to detail. The on-site restaurant off the beach serves a good range of Indonesian and Western food with a seafood accent. Fair snorkelling lies offshore, but the beach is for the jukongs; get your tan by the flower-surrounded freeform pool instead. A standout option in the Amed area and ideal for families. Recommended.
