What we say:

The original Sandat Mas is a collection of chalet-style lodgings set in a row at the rear of the grounds. The gardens are pretty, scattered with coconut palms and with lots of lawn. There's also a good sized swimming pool with unshaded deckchairs and a bale. Beside the pool is a new in 2011 two-storey building that houses the internet cafe and restaurant. This new addition is as gleaming and spotless as the cheap rooms are rundown. The roof of our cold water bathroom roof leaked ... profusely, one of the rear windows wouldn't lock and the ceiling fan was creaking and non-effectual. For the money this is quite overpriced — but there's a pool, handy internet and lots of space for kids to run around in. Sandat Mas is a five-minute walk from the stairs down to Uluwatu.
