Compact with a seaside pool
What we say: 
Given Alam Asmara is on a very compact block, they're done the best then can, with two rows of facing deluxe bungalows running down from reception to where they empty out to a small yet enticing pool and the well regarded Rendevous restaurant. Rooms are plush with chilled air-con and plush white linens — very good beds — and all the standard mod-cons (except for in-room WiFi which we were were told, somewhat bizarrely, wasn't possible because the water interfered with the signal). Staying with water, the lush walkway that runs between the two rows of bungalows has water features all around it and is not at all kid-friendly — if you have young kids we'd suggest going for somewhere with a bit more space and lawn. Our only real reservation is that because the block is so compact there is a trade-off with room privacy and while the gardens help, you will still be quite aware of any passing traffic. For the standard, the rates are competitive.
