What we say:

Entering the pleasant pine tree-filled gardens of the Medewi Hotel you feel as if you are entering your own slice of paradise. Rice barns on one side and concrete monoliths on the other invite the visitor inside for a look. But horror waits as the rooms open up into desperate caverns reminiscent of a 1950s asylum. For your money, you are treated to hot water — your only luxury. The staff are constantly sleeping or reading the paper and the place is in dire need of a renovation. There isn't a lot of accommodation in Medewi and this place serves a purpose right on the beach. Just ask them to change the sheets when you arrive as this is not a standard service.
