Set at the back of a family compound, a solid ten minute walk from the beach, Medewi Surf Homestay is a rural getaway with a two-storey wooden house, surrounded on three sides by rice fields and distant mountain views. There are three simple rooms in all, one ground floor, two upstairs, all that share a common cold water bathroom and face over a pleasant garden enclosure. Resident Ugis is a Bali massage maestro, and while he's not cheap, is one of the best massages we've ever had. Rates are reasonable for the standard. Can arrange surfing classes. Recommended.
