What we say:

At the higher end on Mushroom Bay, the Waka Nusa struck us as the best and most memorable choice. Rooms are set well back from the beach and are large, grass-roofed spherical cottages which, while not enjoying sea views, are nevertheless comfortable and relaxing. Each has a fair-sized terrace and the interiors are tasteful and well-cared for — if a little tired. There's a well-placed swimming pool closer to the beach and a beachside restaurant and bar. Totally ground level, this is a kid-friendy choice as there are no lumbung staircases to worry about. Walk-in prices are high — check online for a discounted rate.
