Tirta Yoga Inn offers clean and simple double-storey fan-cooled and air-con rooms in a delightful family compound filled with tropical flowers.
Rooms are a little surprising when you first enter. The ground floor serves merely as an entrance hall. An internal wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom with a lockable wardrobe under the stairs. A cold-water bathroom tiled in an earthy sandstone colour with a sparkling white toilet and washbasin lead off the entryway — going downstairs to the bathroom during the night may not suit everyone. The upstairs bedroom is just wide enough to accommodate a double bed and two small bedside tables, but long enough for an extra bed, stored underneath. Beds have firm spring mattresses, mozzie nets and a clash of floral sheets, floral blankets and colourful towels. Only one bedside lamp means that if you’re a couple of late-night readers, you’ll have to draw straws.
A door opens to a communal balcony overlooking the pretty garden. Furnished with comfy chairs, side table and a drying rack, It gets full sun in the afternoon which can be hot, but good for drying washing. Breakfast is included and Wifi is free, but reports are that it's not that good. The friendly family can help with onward travel.
If Tirta Yoga Inn is full, across the road, older-style Dharma Homestay has a range of rooms in a similar price bracket.
