Set on a narrow block running from Danau Tamblingan down to the beachfront, Respati Beach Hotel offers midrange accommodation in a series of mostly two storey buildings in an attractive garden setting running down to the water. Rooms come in three flavours, superior, superior bungalows and deluxe and while we wouldn't bother with the bungalows, the superior (upstairs) and deluxe (downstairs) are reasonable offerings. The deluxe rooms are better sized, can fit in an extra bed, and come with a tub and shower (superiors have only a shower) but both have comfortable beds, TV, chilly air-con and minibar. The pool is small but very deep with limited deckchair space given the number of rooms, but there are plenty more deckchairs on the beach out front. The restaurant has a pleasant upstairs floor that offers terrific views across the water, but the menu, while affordable, leans towards the mediocre. WiFi is available in the restaurant area, but not in all rooms. Particularly friendly and helpful staff are noteworthy and obviously swing the deal for what appears to be a decidedly European clientele. For anywhere off the beach, these rates are high, but for beachfront in Sanur, this isn't too bad a deal. Be sure to try it on for a discounted rate or shop online.
