On first glance, Taman Ayu Cottages looks like just another old Bali hotel that has passed its use-by date, but upon stepping into the pool area everything changes. An impressive tropical garden (with obligatory peacock) shade the grounds of this property keeping the general area cool. The pool is popular with guests and has some decent furniture to lounge around on. The rooms are charming, clean, have cable TV, air-con, hot-water bathroom and free WiFi. For those not content with relaxing by the pool a rudimentary outdoor gym is also provided. Set on Jalan Petitenget you're a short drive from the beach, but just a short walk from some excellent restaurants.
