Down the road from Edelweiss and Korina this homely establishment is the most traveller friendly hotel in Bajawa and while slightly more expensive, is significantly more comfortable and welcoming.
Rooms are clean and well kept, there is a small deck out front and a comfortable common area within. The hotel is by the main road into town and we'd guess the rooms would get a bit of traffic noise, moreso perhaps than Edelweiss or Korina, so try for a room towards the rear away from the road. The rooms do have somewhat thin walls, meaning that when the hotel is full, you might be able to hear aggressive snorers from the next room over. Friendly and popular, Happy Happy was full on both days we visited -- always a good sign. A full breakfast is on offer, including fruit, fresh juice, and a choice of pancake or eggs done various ways. The Dutch owners are able to arrange onward travel from Bajawa, and have a good knowledge of the region. Their manager can help arrange trips into the villages, and is generally aware of any special events or cultural happenings. It's a short walk from nearby restaurants and 15 minutes on foot from the centre of town. Reservations recommended, especially in high season.
