Dozy staff, dated rooms
What we say: 
The dozy staff here are a little unprepared for guests outside of the high season probably due to how infrequently they arrive. The location of Karimunjawa Inn is up the hill behind the port and this out of the way location also contributes to the lack of guests. Rooms here are old school with the cheapest options containing a fan and squat toilet and the most expensive containing air-con and Western bathroom. This place could be so much better if a bit more effort went into maintenance and modernisation. We're told that this place is popular with tour groups, so don't be surprised if you end up here if you come on a tour. Not our first choice.
