What we say:

The Istana Griya has long been a guidebook staple for Solo, however it seems that the owners have capitalised on this and upped the prices without doing any renovations or improvements.Â While this budget hotel is comfortable and the staff are very friendly, the rooms look rather shabby and there are now some very competitive alternate options in the surrounding streets.Â Embedded in the kampung, it also has some noise issues. However, the Istana Griya is still a solid and reliable choice in a good location within easy walking distance to the main sights.Â The communal areas of the hotel are nice places to read or relax. The price includes an omelette for breakfast and the staff can arrange a number of tours.
