Danau Dariza
Novelty hotel

What we say:
What in the beginning appears to be a stroke of creative genius quickly turns into a somewhat substandard novelty. The novelty here is that the rooms are designed in various styles used by the different ethnic groups of Indonesia such as Sundanese, Balinese and Batak. It's a great idea spoiled by adventure sport activities such as flying foxes and rope bridges being strung across the property with a complete and utter disregard for those not wishing to be disturbed by the sights and sounds associated with such an activity. Additionally, the boats which are available for guests to paddle around in look like they were salvaged from a condemned 1950s theme park such is their shoddy appearance. These misgivings aside, the rooms are clean and comfortable and contain TVs, tea- and coffee-making facilities and lots of great views depending on which room you score. This hotel is a place you'd take pre-adolescent kids, but is not ideal for anyone else.
