The Beach House

A few different options

What we say: 4 stars

The Beach House has a range of accommodation on offer, with their four-bedroom villa now somewhat worn and tired-looking piece de resistance, and selections smaller and less expensive from there. The villa has two bedrooms up and downstairs, all of which are, amazingly, lacking windows — perhaps to keep the party noise out (you can still hear it, but it's slightly muffled). But you'll likely spend more time in the large living areas outside and by the large private pool anyway. When the villa's not being rented you can take a single room but may need to share the communal space with others — not a great deal in that case. Rooms stretch a long way down to a much newer two-bedroom suite out the back, which shares a plunge pool with a single-room neighbour is a decent upper-end choice for partying families (more practical than two rooms in the villa). The general pool area is pleasant enough. Ask to see a selection of rooms if you can; some are older, some are new. Hotel staff are very helpful and obliging — they were quick to fix a buggy DVD player. Decent buffet-style breakfast included — we liked the muesli. WiFi is extra.
