What we say:

There's a Swiss hand in Desa Dunia Beda and it shows via a sharp attention to detail that helps to make this one of the most attractive properties on Gili Trawangan. The traditional wooden joglos were all originally family homes around the Yogyakarta area on Java and were shipped here to create their own village on the north coast of the island. The heavy-on-wood fitout within is evocative, gorgeous and chilled thanks to the air-con! We really felt like we were walking through an antique store. Hot fresh water showers are in all the well-designed bathrooms. The grounds are expansive, and, if anything, a little naked — given the resort has been around for a few years now it would have been good to see a more serious attempt at gardens, if for no other reason than more shade (due to water scarcity this lack of greenery isn't uncommon across Gili). There is a swimming pool on site, pleasant restaurant and a good stretch of beach out front.
