Manirat Guesthouse

Old and faded but OK

Manirat Guesthouse seems to have been in Huay Xai since the beginning of time. The outside is old and shabby, but inside it's fine, with rooms including bathroom with hot shower. A couple of the rooms have access to a tiny balcony overlooking the main street out the front. There is also a huge balcony at the back with views of the Mekong. There is a little noise in the rooms facing the street, however this is a good option if you want something cheap and clean.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure.
