Sabaydee Guesthouse
Clean, simple and central
Huay Xai
Bokeo Province
Tel: (084) 211 503
Description
Sabaydee Guesthouse has clean and comfortable rooms with a fan, bathroom and hot shower. The beds are hard as rocks (even by Lao standards) but the bedding is crisply clean. Four rooms have windows overlooking the Mekong, but try not to get rooms on the first level as you will hear the television blaring Thai soap operas in the foyer all night.

Yes spotless, yes hard beds but not too hard. One of the few places where the bathroom drainage actually worked and you didn't get wet feet when you went for a pee. We had the 2 top back rooms - great. 6USD per room.

This place is not only polite, spotless, and inexpensive, but the building is gorgeous. It has a very nice feeling to it. We did not find that the beds were too hard- we were quite comfortable. We paid USD 7, and had a very clean room with private attached bath with hot shower. There is a pretty balcony on the 2nd or 3rd floor common area, over looking the one street in Huay Xai. I would stay there again.

Sabaydee GH is extremely clean, well managed and has very hard beds. Those were the only reason to leave it after one night. But definitely it is a very good guesthouse with good value for the money. We paid 6 US$ for a double with fan and attached bathroom.

The rooms and bathrooms are spotless here. We didn't have any problems with the beds being hard. Try to get a room on the second floor at the rear of the building overlooking the Mekong.

Surprisingly, I paid/was quoted Bhat 200 or USD 5 during the high season. The place is so spotless, you'll feel guilty walking in with dirty footwear. Shiny tiled floors, polished doors and clean bathrooms. Yes the beds are rock hard, to endure many years of use.
Tip: Roll out your sleeping bag or Thermarest. Ironic in a faulltess GH but definitely saves your back
