Due to its location in the centre of town and on the main street, Manychan is a popular choice. Rooms are basic but clean, with fan but no mosquito net, and the walls have an unfinished look to them. Bathrooms are shared and quite clean given they suffer so much traffic - they service the busy restaurant downstairs as well. They have a hot shower and squat toilet. Upstairs is a large seating area and a small balcony which overlooks the main road.

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. Shouldn't have moved out - 25th January, 2010
My first 2 choices were booked out so I stayed here 1 night until a room opened up at my first choice. I wish I had stayed now - the other place was more expensive with fewer facilities. My room had A/C, TV and a nice clean bathroom for 60000 kip. Hot water was OK, but a lot of it leaked out of the shower hose before it got to the spray - if I had stayed I would have asked for this to be fixed. There was a bit of noise from the kitchen in the morning, but not too bad. I would stay here again.

OK stay - 3rd January, 2010
Prices seem to have risen since last review. We paid 60000kip - maybe could have done better but they seemed pretty full. Rooms were we thought better than indicated in your review- TV, A/c hot water was fine and room was acceptably clean. pleasant enough tourist style restaurant downstairs.

OK...but... - 2nd December, 2006
OK guesthouse that is central and serves good Loa food in a popular resturant. The rooms are fine but but no hot water. Stayed 3 nights. First night no hot water, second night it went cold after 1 min, and third night no hot water. There are better places to stay in Luang nam Tha.
